Fifth Characteristic of the Bride of Christ

Like Christ, the Bride of Christ must show selflessness to others. In Luke 6:35, "But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked." This means that we need to show every one kindness. We need to do random acts of kindness to others. You never know what someone is going through that day or in their lives. If we only reach one soul for the kingdom of God, then Heaven rejoices cause this means that someone is going to come home with our Heavenly Father. Random act of kindness is just one way that we can show selflessness in our lives.

Another way to show selflessness is to observe others to see their needs, rather their needs is physical or emotional needs. God always provide our needs, and if we can help others in our community. We can do sunshine baskets for sick people in the community. The people at my church are getting materials together for a sunshine basket for a person with cancer to try to make her feel better. You can do other things to help the people in your community.

As the Bride of Christ, we are called to show selflessness to others. We can accomplish this by through different ways. We need must do outreach in the community to show God's light and God's love.

Prayer:

Father, God,

I pray that you provide opportunities to help others in my community. We must learn to work to farther the kingdom of God. As You are preparing us to be your bride, I pray that you show opportunities to increase our spiritual growth in You.
